The Global maritime in Dubai
Dubai Maritime City Free Zone (DMC) occupies a prime waterfront position on the Arabian Gulf, with seamless connections to open waters, Dubai International Airport, and an integrated public transport network. Split into Industrial and Commercial precincts, its Industrial zone offers state-of-the-art shipyards, yacht-refit facilities, and marine-equipment workshops that support 24/7 operations. The Commercial precinct features the Marina District’s mixed-use waterfront with charter and transit marinas, dry-boat storage, and ferry links; the upcoming Maritime Centre corporate park; the DMC Campus for marine education; and plots reserved for luxury waterfront residences and offices.
Since launch, the 1,000-berth marina’s first phase was completed in March 2009, and after a brief construction pause in 2010, 96 low- and high-rise towers were finalized by March 2012. Phases 2 and 3 will bring additional commercial towers and infrastructure, while a $38 million infrastructure package was 25 percent complete as of March 2020 (on track for early 2021 delivery). In February 2022, DMC unveiled a Dh 140 million upgrade to roads, utilities, and telecom, fully integrating the hub with Mina Rashid’s QE2 Hotel, P&O Marinas, and Marina Cubes. Invest in DMC’s cutting-edge infrastructure and prime waterfront developments today.
